Han'geul
These lessons will introduce the Korean writing system - Han'geul. They will begin with the vowels, then move on to the
consonants, and finally cover syllable combinations.
The Korean alphabet is one of the world's most scientific
alphabets and is very easy to learn. It was designed by King
Sejong, fourth monarch of the Choseon dynasty, in 1443 and
promulgated in 1446. The original name of the alphabet was
"Hun-min-jeong-eum," which means "the proper sounds
for the instruction of the people." The modern name of the
alphabet is "Han'geul," which means "Korean
script."
